"In a world where everything is ridiculous, nothing can be ridiculed." - G.K. Chesterton
Mike Shedlock sums it up:
The Fed was hell bent on reducing standards of living via inflation. Now they struggle to undo the inflation and asset bubble consequences they created.
The Fed is the problem, not the solution.
I can’t wait to spend my “inflation relief package”!

Just for fun: Welcome To 2030: I Own Nothing, Have No Privacy And Life Has Never Been Better
Once in a while I get annoyed about the fact that I have no real privacy. Nowhere I can go and not be registered. I know that, somewhere, everything I do, think and dream of is recorded. I just hope that nobody will use it against me.
Mortgage Lenders Turn ‘Desperate’ as Soaring Rates Roil Industry “Business in the first three months of this year was still OK, but starting from April, it was totally dead. It’s like vacation time.”
This Seattle startup aims to simplify investing in single-family rental properties “Imagine you could put on a pair of glasses and look at any property or look out over the entire state of Washington and only see the properties that make sense to buy as an investment,” said CEO and co-founder Jamie Nacht, who previously held a leadership role at J.P. Morgan.
“Investors with large portfolios (at least 100 properties) drove much of this growth, nearly doubling their share of investor purchases from 14% in September 2020 to 26% in September 2021…By buying up single-family homes, investors have reduced the already limited supply available to potential owner-occupants, particularly first-time and moderate-income buyers.”
Inflation Hits July 4 Cookouts With Food Prices Up as Much as 36% I’m so old I can remember when July 4th cost 16 cents less than the year before.
A few more odds and ends on the Epstein operation, since so many are in denial, and then I’ll stop for now. Everyone in power clearly wants this thing to just die, and it mostly has.
Acosta had explained, breezily, apparently, that back in the day he’d had just one meeting on the Epstein case. He’d cut the non-prosecution deal with one of Epstein’s attorneys because he had “been told” to back off, that Epstein was above his pay grade. “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’ and to leave it alone,” he told his interviewers in the Trump transition, who evidently thought that was a sufficient answer and went ahead and hired Acosta.
Isn't it a wacky coincidence that Bill Barr's law firm was the same law firm that cut Epstein the sweet deal with Acosta?
Bill Barr worked at the CIA from 1971 to 1977.

Soon after I walked into the entrance of Epstein’s mansion on E 71st Street, said to be the city’s largest private home, a butler asked me, ‘would you like an intimate massage, sir, by a pretty young girl?’ This offer seemed so out of place and weird to me that I swiftly declined.
More important than indelicacy, as an old observer of intelligence affairs, to me this offer reeked of ye old honey trap, a tactic to ensnare and blackmail people that was old when Babylon was young.
…the Epstein ‘massage’ operation was a classic intelligence operation designed to blackmail men of influence...watch this stinking pile of corruption be hurriedly covered up. Talk about draining the swamp
"Beleaguered billionaire Jeffrey Epstein at the Tel Aviv Hilton in Israel, where, a spokesman says he was “meeting with Israeli research scientists, and taking a tour of military bases." No massages." - Palm Beach Daily News, 4/27/2008
...Epstein’s 21,000-square-foot townhouse on East 71st Street welcomed a steady stream of the Davos crowd in the past decade. - Gabriel Sherman
For an Epstein/Wexner/Maxwell Et al. crash course (just the tip of the iceberg), here is an early four-part series by Whitney Webb:
HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT: THE SHOCKING ORIGINS OF THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN CASE
GOVERNMENT BY BLACKMAIL: JEFFREY EPSTEIN, TRUMP’S MENTOR AND THE DARK SECRETS OF THE REAGAN ERA
MEGA GROUP, MAXWELLS AND MOSSAD: THE SPY STORY AT THE HEART OF THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN SCANDAL
When I go through Whitney Webb’s articles, I'll check all her sources and links...and it's surreal. What a collection of elite sleaze. There is so much smoke that the risk is you die of smoke inhalation before comprehending the enormity of the fire.
Before I abandoned my rich and therefore “smart” friends for the sanity that only solitude can bring, they rolled their eyes at me whenever I brought up conspiracies like Epstein. The herd has chosen intentional obtuseness as their drug to dull the pain from the emptiness of their lives and the true nature of this reality.
These posts are truly fantastic, actually even better than you twitter was.
