The Big Short clip is hard to watch and I have, dozens of times - we prosecute a lot of crime but very little money crime. What makes us think that finance is the one area that psychopaths don't operate? I would argue that finance is the natural playground for the deviant among us, where very little productive activity occurs and the benefits mostly accrue to those connected to government and lobbyists. So many opportunities for our government to play their required referee role and yet, nothing. Give a man a suit and he can hide most anything.

with all the financial shyt going on in government and banks and financial behemoths that are invisible to the naked eye of normal people and all the buying of candidates and buying political offices and the end of any concern about enormous deficit spending by governments, I realize my only way out is to die....and if I can, spend as much of my savings as I can before any further rule/tax changes still too much more. I have upped my spending to be broke well before my true life expectancy because at least that way i get some vacations and golf in before the government and pols steal everything I have.

that LBJ story just points out that the afterburn of voting cheating are always the same...the losers are enraged because in some respects, the counting of the votes the first time is almost a de facto statute of limitation on doing anything about the fraud..once those votes are counted, almost impossible to uncount them....and the winners - always SHOCKED that anyone could even think cheating happened.

The graphs and charts are superb! Love you throwing in the rogue…wolves eating beavers and blueberries instead of moose was enlightening. Nice break from the ongoing National Grift policy of the fed.

The LBJ story is an excerpt from Robert Caro's first LBJ book. A phenomenal read. That isn't even the craziest story...Brown and Roots funding of LBJ makes election rigging look like petty theft.

Great post.

Did you hear Porter snap at Eisman’s the economy is doing great comment? Made my day.

Also, is that Currie interview worthwhile? I used to think he was (relatively) honest…but that feeling faded.

Thanks for highlighting recent Mike Green interview. 70%. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

Finance degree and im broke next week, probably robbing someone. No job postings are real. Don’t get select any beneficial demographic boxes. Been in litigation for corporate whistleblowing for 6 years. Access to capital = access to justice system. To live in a job market that pays well - your cost of living is higher. Can’t get ahead in life. Will probably never marry or have kids. Would leave the country in a heartbeat if had a few shekels. Corrupt system head-to-toe. The only thing that gets punished in this country is the honest man.

Great post and thank you. It's a bit depressing (when I'm not in my garden).

I think the institutional looks like "less" because there was just so much of it at the end of the GFC (2011-2014)., so their recent forays aren't as big a deal. I definitely agree Mom and Pops went hard. It will likely be the Mom and Pops who implode the ugliest.
