I *know* there are people under the age of 50 who realize how fucked up things really are, but I don’t think anyone under that age can really appreciate the chasm between the way life was in the 70’s and 80’s, and where we find ourselves today.

I make it a practice to watch films made in that era just to go to a place where I remember not being terrified of what will happen 6-months from now; an era when I wasn’t aware that there was an entire class of humans who wanted me dead for no other reason than that I fucking exist. I often cry with nostalgia.

I have hope that we have young people today who will make the tough choices the 80 year olds never did.

I am one such young person and I understand full well the need to make these tough decisions. my generation is so entitled. we need a few years of pain unfortunately. maybe if they just deleted instagram to doom scroll fintwit and read your stack like me things would start looking up.

Blackstone and Blackrock single family funds must be the single dumbest idea Wall Street grifters have ever concocted. Outbid the market for SF homes and then rent them to…who?, the same people who couldn’t afford them? And contract for the labor for maintenance a homeowner usually provides as sweat equity? This was a fee for AUM model which will leave investors sadder but possibly wiser. And then hands out for a govt program to help them?
