Hard for me to be sad for BB&B, having endured 5 years of Study Buddies in college awash in cucumber melon body spray that coats all that it touches.

The thread on how we got to Trump is interesting. As a former Democrat in California, our state paying Eric Holder's salary to challenge Trump legislation made me sick. Way back when, the entire Castro area in SF celebrated Bill Clinton's election & yet look at what he & Hillary did to the country. There's plenty of blame to pass around for the political class.

There are two things that I think are really important right now in my mind: making sure that CBDCs are not rolled out, either in the front door or the back door & making sure that lock downs never happen again. RICO laws and anti-trust laws need to be enforced now as the concentration of assets and resources into a smaller group of corporations and government continues.

Yes - CBDC's (with a cash ban) are the end of freedom. Hell, look what went on in Canada without CBDC's. RICO - I've been calling for the banks to be charged under that forever. One can dream. On anti-trust, Matt Stoller is good on that.

So many great posts here recalling how trump got elected. There is a great DVe Chappell video with similar observations. I voted for Trump the first time despite insights over his years in real estate partly because he spoke the truth and partly because I would not have voted for HRC with a gun in my back. And also immediately deflated when I saw the Goldman alumni all over. Oh to have a normal and likes me person tell the truth and cut through the oligarchy which has been created

I just write in Ron Paul over the years. Didn't vote for Trump but at the same time was not sad Hillary lost.

I voted for that libertarian, Gary Johnson. Almost everyone I know voted for Hillary and can’t understand how I can be glad Hillary lost given how Trump turned out. I cannot prove a hypothetical, but I am sure a President Hillary Clinton would have just been another fork in history leading to dystopia. It would have been different than Trump but not necessarily better. I can’t get on board with the “lesser of two evils” approach to voting.

The shame is that Bill Weld did not run when he was younger--he would have had my vote, Johnson seemed a little off somehow. Weld was a great Governor, and a great contrast to Mitt Romney who was virtually invisible

Does the number 30 mean something after your political doom loop? (Loved that BTW - your ability to be concise is an art form). Matt Stoller’s story is something else too. Obama - what a disappointment - I owe my aunt an apology for always hating on him.

Obama was a total fraud.

He made you feel so good and you trusted him before you realized what a fraud he was. And Mitt Romney personifies the description “suit without a man in it”. What choices we have had!

You’re spot on about the GOP in the early 2000s. We’ve been scammed by the GOP and the Democrats. I was scammed by the GOP for decades. CBDCs will be the final death blow to liberty. Both parties are authoritarian, just in different ways, and will use CBDCs for their particular flavor of tyranny. I feel like there is still some small chance it can be stopped.
