I've given up on our regulatory system, or legislature or financial system. Over time I've come to realize that our economy has become more and more fake as the banksters have had more influence. The real economy of people making things people need, growing crops, fixing cars, manufacturing things & other important work is reflected less and less in the big financial markets where money is made by just pushing around electronic fiat & laughing as the serfs get trounced again.

These people might as well tattoo "Please guillotine me" on their foreheads. They just double-down on the neofeudalism while ignoring glaring resource and environmental problems, and I don't mean the climate change lunacy, I mean collapse of ecosystems that support all life, nothing to do with Greta Thunberg's vanity project. Hyper complex systems without redundancy is no way to run a civilized society in a finite world.
I've been watching all this from Taiwan and SE Asia for 26 years, and thinking, at some point they will come to their senses and see all of this is unsustainable, but no, just more doubling down, more lies, ever more taxation, grift, bureaucracy, fascism and decay.
Nonetheless, I will remain hopeful, because there is no other option, and because I have children. Things can change quickly if circumstances are right. Humans have been through worse.
