If you haven’t read it already, I think you’d like the Raven of Zurich. It’s a good inflation busting price. Free on the Internet Archive.

for me these books written around that time are almost nostalgic as my Dad was around in those times and those places (on the run from the Gestapo during WW2) . All the things I wish I’d asked him :(

The question I have is will Trump bail out the banks and PE partnerships making bad loans when this all goes belly up again...just kidding, I don't really question it.

I would bet my life that Bush, Cheney and Israel conspired on 9/11

I saw Bill Kristol on one of the Sunday morning news programs, bring up Sarah Palin as the best candidate for vice president. He took credit for it being the first time her name was brought up as McCain's potential running mate. He had to work to convince the host it was a credible idea. Maybe explains a lot?

I am convinced that when Obama was elected the first time the banksters on Wall Street went to him and said "If you want that health care thing you ran on to happen, you will go along with whatever Wall Street wants with TARP and the bailouts." So it was done. Back then, people were upset over $700 Billion, now they throw around trillions like it was nothing. The most stark, telling difference in the country is a drug using, dead beat father, head of a corporation gets set up for a Trillion dollar pay package whilst millions of Americans can't get SNAP benefits because the summer school class we send to Washington can't get their act together. I hate this day, Veterans day, so much, people thanking me for my service. I didn't do it for you, and you have no idea what you are thanking me for.

I voted for Trump in 2016 because I figured he’d change the status quo either by turning things around or hastening the day of reckoning. Either way it would get America where she needed to be instead of this Republican/Democrat extend and pretend fiasco. Plus, I would never, never ever vote for Her Royal C*unt, a person who wanted the presidency so badly that she’d probably throw her own mother under the bus to achieve it.

In 2016 I wrote in Ron Paul. Gun to head I would’ve voted for Trump or Sanders over Hillary.

Wow, what a list. Peter Wallison's dissent to the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission report was instructive. Bush, imho, was an ignorant dufus; The real villain was Cheney. Poor Colin Powell forced to humiliate himself with that UN testimony. Then one thought that by electing an articulate Black man, we might heal the nation's racial divide, but Obama made it far worse, perhaps irretrievably so. The list goes on.

America's been stuck in corporatism for decades, which is why socialism is catching on. The choice is between it and corporatism, and it's clear to almost everyone that corporatism sucks. Capitalism - legalized voluntary cooperation among honest, peaceful citizens - isn’t even on the ballot.

agreed. The people see privatization of profits and socialization of losses among the corporations and elite, and say why not have some freebies for us poors too. The fish rots from the head.

Rudy, did you actually vote for Obama or did you vote against McCain? What do you think of George Carlin's position - don't vote, it only encourages them?

Finally I happened to see a clip of Donnie's interview on Fox - this was his response to a question about his 50 year mortgage scheme - It’s not even a big deal,” Trump insisted. “I mean, you know, you go from 40 to 50 years.” Out of touch with reality or another sign of the onset of dementia?

I normally vote Ron Paul but I was so pissed at Bushcheney that I made a mistake.

With the terrible choices we get from the two parties it seems we make mistake no matter whom we vote for. My first presidential election was in 1976 and I voted for Eugene McCarthy. Maybe I was already disgusted with out two party system.
