Just a quick note. Pakistan does indeed have nuclear weapons. There is extensive evidence that they are crazy. Still. Too. Here are the countries which admit having nuclear weapons: United States, Russia, France, China, United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea
Here are countries that probably have the ability to make at least a radiation distribution weapon and have considerable nuclear systems: Japan, Ukraine, Slovakia, Belgium, Hungary, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, South Korea, South Africa, Switzerland, Australia, Spain, Belarus, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Iran, Romania, Sweden, Mexico, Finland, Armenia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Germany, Taiwan, Italy, Austria, Poland, Norway, Philippines, Vietnam, and some others with research reactors. Altogether estimates vary but about 54 countries have nuclear power systems which could be diverted to military purposes. Some of these countries are more crazy than others. To my knowledge only two cities have ever been deliberately blown to smithereens by nuclear weapons. There's also a heavily contaminated place, Chernobyl, and another contaminated place with some no-go zones, Fukushima. The area around Three Mile Island is still habitable and produces food that is consumed by people who don't seem to be adversely affected. John Wayne did a movie in the area most affected by the fallout from one of the above ground nuclear tests of last century and died of cancer about 20 years later. But, sure, it was the cigarette smoking. Altogether 528 above ground nuclear tests have taken place in our atmosphere. And we're all fine, right? You feel fine, dontcha? meh
Mr. Havenstein, at this point there is only one credible measure of inflation left--papiermarks vs. goldmarks (in your custody). There is no longer a credible government-derived measure, and probably never was. The universe, however, does not lie. And it trends toward increasing entropy, as do we.
There's a famous picture of a city square in Vienna in 1914. The square is packed with ecstatic Viennese celebrating the outbreak of the greatest war since Napoleon ruled the continent.
I always wondered how you get a population to the point where they celebrate the outbreak of something like that but I'm starting to get it...
Incidentally, someone later found a young Hitler in that picture smiling like Ronald McDonald, slapping his knee with excitement.
Jubilant crowds celebrated the fall of Fort Sumter in April 1861. Charleston, South Carolina had big parties. "Some men just want to watch the world burn."
According to the Real Annual Earnings chart, the most explosive growth in real earnings this century came about by shutting down the entire economy for a glorified flu and sending out government checks underwritten by massive new government debt. Real.

As always, a very interesting read. The photo of Mitch McConnell holding your picture made me LMAO!🤣
I started to flick through the 69 pages of mr Warsh’s dough … I feel very poor now, even as a supposedly privileged white bloke.

You can take the Currie out of Goldman but you can't take the Goldman out of the Currie.

Chained and am getting ready to be trimmed--thanks for the heads up
That Carson Block piece (SoFI and more) is fascinating
