The current century has been all about lurching from one war to another. This time we are in a proxy war with a nuclear power capable of destroying the world many times over. Putin is an evil guy and the aggressor. But there are limits to the outcome we can achieve for Ukraine. Even writing what I just wrote would be attacked for being a “Putin apologist” or “enabler” if posted on Twitter. We have lost all sense of nuance and any debate on our policy, other than acceding to absolutism, is not permitted. Seems to me that a proxy war that keeps escalating is something requiring open and vigorous debate.

"The thing I wondered about the panel is that everyone seemed to be waiting for opportunities to “deploy capital,” but did any of them make bad loans over that period, and if so, are they be as flush as they seem to be? Who knows."

Net, net....there will be no capital to deploy. Rage on, friends...into the void.

Wouldn't it be great to have a law in place which requires the M2 money supply chart be published by all major networks each month. That's where the theft is.

When I read about corruption, abuse of power, and stupidity of our overlords, I find a bit of satisfaction in this bit of history:

"The Death of Johan de Witt

In 1672, the Dutch Grand Pensionary was lynched and partially eaten by an angry mob."

The Dutch people really understood incentives back then.

Excellent stuff. A funny sort of dichotomy I observed: I was asked to verify my age by Google in order to watch the Animal House clip (didn’t have the time to oblige the Tech god). It struck me as odd how over the top that type of governance is (I mean was nudity and bad language even allowed when Animal House was filmed? Plus, given all their prying surely ‘they’ know I’m over 18.) vs the financial free-for-all and grift that you regularly write about.

Sticking with that theme, I bet I could order a gun online with less verification. The country is nuts.
