He's far more of a trader than I am, and I could relate. I always sell (and usually buy) "too soon." l too have issues dumping a loser if I still think it has value. Catching falling knives has actually mostly worked out for me, breaking a cardinal rule.
Yeah he is quite a trader. I don’t trade much. I used to trade Nat Gas with modest success as I have some knowledge of the industry and patterns, being the 3rd largest SH and a board member of a privately held royalty and streaming business called Baywood. Northern MI. Part family. But Covid and the Ukraine thing really screwed up 50 years worth of technical patterns and I was losing more than I was making. I’ll try again at some point. Mostly I focus on shipping, mining, oil and 3-4 dividend stocks. That’s it. I set my stop losses tight and start taking profits on anything that is +50%. Except jr explorers. It’s either 10x or zero. Haha.
"Do you worry about the price of bread Mrs. Smith?"
"Oh no, I'm much more worried about the dreaded climate change."
the final meme is so on point!
“Getting out of a profitable trade is the single hardest decision.”
Interesting thought from Greg. I’ve never had any issues exiting a profitable trade. Dumping a loser is more difficult for me.
