I’m sorry you’re losing subscriptions. I understand those who need to review ‘non-essentials’ for budget trims. I also understand those who’ve totally opted out of news - whether it be the legacy provided propaganda or actually truth-based exposes via independent journalists or Substack authors. It gets over-whelming especially when we feel so powerless - no western democracy in the west listens to their people. As Piepenburg said ‘Civil Servants are no longer serving and they certainly aren’t Civil.’ I say to my fellow Europeans bring on these dastardly hate speech laws so we the people can prosecute our governments.
Things will have to go very badly for me to give up my sub - I have morbid curiosity and gallows humour. However, if you notice a long absence of likes/comments, send a search party (unless I’m the noise you refer to! ;-). )
Speaking of persisting I just finished listening to Peak Prosperity’s 20 hour old interview with David Webb - he fills us in on two unsuccessful legal efforts by two states to undo the clause which takes away our beneficial owner status. It’s a frightening listen. I can’t help but think there’s a there, there. Webb uses the word ‘spiritual’ as a way provide context to help make sense of what sounds nuts. This choice of word was coincidental as I just received delivery of a book about the Fulfilment of Globalisation from which this is taken: “For twenty centuries, the Church has forewarned her children of the end of history, when the world will be united by a great deception, of a time when mankind will follow a world leader . . .” The author, GM Davis is a PhD in pol sci from Stanford and lectures on Islam, US foreign policy, globalisation and the history of the Orthodox Church in the US.
What more powerful way for the Globalists to get the people by the nose than impoverish then rescue them? The ultimate create a crisis and then provide the solution (at the price of liberty/free will).
Anyway, your reach would be a great way to encourage people check it out and perhaps more states (and countries) will go to court. I know you’ve written on it but see what you think with this update.
From the CA insurance link: In February, the state’s Department of Insurance announced proposals to reform California’s insurance regulations. The new proposal would allow insurance companies to switch from using historical data to catastrophe "modeling", meaning companies would calculate projections of future risk when raising rates and pass on the cost of reinsurance to consumers.
Tell you a funny thing about gold… in 2019 I sold a couple of acres of land. I didn’t want to blow the money on a car or some other BS thing and banks were paying zip interest so, I bought some gold. Believe me, it wasn’t some insightful move rather, it was just the next best thing I figured I could replace the land with. Of course, look at the price of gold now, it’s like I’m a genius! LOL. Far from it. But, here’s the thing… a couple of years back, I read that gold is like a gun in the nightstand drawer - a feeling of security to have, a feeling of fear if you ever have to use it. So, there it will sit. Appreciate, stagnate, I don’t care. I will enjoy the security and pray that I never have to use it.
forever subscriber....you are my AI search for all things FED,govt pissing away money, central bankers and pols lying, some attempt to have real measurement numbers. dont cut your price...we can't risk triggering deflation cause "debt". ps note to other subs - bitcoin is fine if you like lt but remember it depends on having electricity and working internet and no one owning more than 50% of mining. own some gold that depends on having it in your pocket
This is one of my favorite weekly reads. You do a great job of grabbing bits and pieces from all over, many from people I already follow, and it helps me work toward getting the bigger picture sorted out--as best I can anyway. I've been "cleaning up" my subscriptions (it's getting out of hand!), but for yours I just switched from monthly to yearly. Keep up the good work!
Everything goes in cycles, but I doubt there has ever been a period with less deep thinking, contemplation, and attention to history (not just the history of past eras, but recent history — like 2 weeks ago)
The “time” excuse is BS. It takes no time to buzz through these, I selfishly wish they were longer.
People use that excuse for everything.
You’re doing a great job and a great service, giving voice to all the little thoughts bouncing around in the back of my mind. I look forward to the posts always.
I hope not, but as Hemingway wrote, "The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunists."
Supposedly JFK had been working back channels to normalize relations with Cuba and extricating us from Vietnam and after the November elections was going to press ahead…
Setting aside the Spanish- American War I believe it really took root with those Dulles brothers controlling the State Department and the CIA. I would like to believe they took Eisenhower for a ride. But then again, after what we learned over the last four years, maybe he was a willing accomplice.
Lincoln was shot on this day in 1865. I was thinking about that today - how the entire history of America would be very different had he lived. I think the same about JFK in 1963.
Jim Stack, a market historian and publisher of the newsletter InvesTech Research is the originator of: “Everybody is distracted by new highs in the stock market, the presidential election, and wars in Ukraine and Israel. But credit markets are sending signals that the fabric of the overleveraged American economy is under serious strain. Keep your eye on the ball.”

Thanks. Not a lot, just more than usual, probably because of the 1-year anniversary. Still, I persisted :)

There's that word again...

I'm claiming this as my original quote :) https://twitter.com/RudyHavenstein/status/996478585429880832
Yes, that’s it exactly! Thx

There is always something useful here---

Thanks. Fantastic reading as always. On Gold - your point about it being the gun that you hope you never need is brilliant.
I must add to that by saying that your missives are one of those that I look forward to reading - I consume the whole buffet!
Thank you.
One of your best in a Schadenfreude sort of way. I think I subscribed because you had a local (A$) currency option.
Stripe does that. They get their cut :)
Suspect a bigger a war will come. Alas. Just hope our kids aren’t dragged into it. Probably the only way out for the ‘elites’
And it’s corollary, patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel
In America, it used to be patriotic to NOT want to be in 150 countries as an empire.

A3… Exile on Coldharbour Lane. C’mon now Rudy, I’m going to be smiling through the rest of this read! Thx ;)
Just wanted to say I’m a happy paying subscriber. Keep up the great work!
Thank you.

An old timer, yes.
Don't trust the government numbers. Hell, I don't trust a single thing the government says.
Distrust, and verify.
