Well I signed up yesterday and then I got the receipt! I don't have that credit card that got charged!

WTF? Maybe the receipt is misprinted or something because the transaction went through it appears!

The credit card person told me that I have no account with that number and if it was billed to someone else "they will appeal it". Something is crazy over there with your billing system

Maybe 5% have had some issues. It's not my billing system. Substack forces me to use Stripe through an automated process. Doing a Google search I saw that they say to complain here: complaints@stripe.com.

I have an email in to a guy at Stripe asking who to contact about this at Stripe, but it is St. Patrick's Day.

We need to stop calling it capitalism, Biden and Newsom one-upped Hank Paulson for the most blatant use of crony-capitalism. It's the greatest impediment to free enterprise and wealth creation for the majority population of un-connected citizens...

Godspeed Rudy, i used to think you were an amazing comedian (you still are) but everytime twitter bans you and you go long form over here on the stack. I am truly amazed at your research and knowledge of financial history. I will be unsubscribing from Grants Pub as there can be only one!!

Thank you! I love Jim Grant but it is pricy.

Haha I love him too, pricy but worth every penny for me. Only other thing I pay for is Bloomberg (cuz i have to). and they occasionally have some article worth reading. Also QTR stack I got a discount on, I love that guy.

So for me you're up there with the best and brightest. Smarter than 95% of fintwit

Sorry Rudy this is your stack but IF I MAY make a request. Can you PLEASE post the Ray Dalio hotdog thread?? I can't tell you how many times i've been crying laughing on twitter from that one. And since you got banned i know longer have access :/

I will try to work stuff like that in! The Twitter ban makes re-creating threads even more difficult than usual, but yeah, I'm thinking about that. Stay tuned.

I will be subscribing - the site declined my card but will keep trying (does it take foreign credit cards?). Happy St Patrick’s day from Dublin!!

Not sure which I enjoy more - the writing - the memes or the music choices! Don’t know how you find the time - your memory must be the envy of the world.

Oh and Liesman? Secret’s in the name I reckon ;-)

Thank you. I will look into foreign cards. I have no control over payments, that's all Stripe, and Substack only takes Stripe.

Don’t worry - I have since learned Mastercard here blocked it pending my confirmation it’s legit (guess they know you’re dead, right?). Will do again

Definitely been some hiccups. I had to send Stripe my ID and also take photos of my face. I don't know why the NSA couldn't have just given that to them.

"There’s no way that Biden and the Democratic Party was going to let any wealthy person in Silicon Valley lose a penny of their deposits, because it knows that it’s going to get huge campaign contributions in gratitude for the 2024 election."

Biden is a human vegetable, he didn't make any decision. Stop giving him agency. His job is to keep a chair warm and read teleprompters. I doubt he'll even be alive by 2024. Anybody notice the White House Youtube channel has gone all but silent?

https://www.youtube.com/@WhiteHouse/videos

They currently produce one video a week or so, they used to produce something like 5 a day just a few months ago. Something is going on. I think the time that is needed to get the hair sniffing corrupt weirdo coherent enough to stumble through a teleprompter speech is becoming so large, they just gave up on it. They need to move to CGI and deep fakes, that's what they were created for.

We would all be better off if monkeys were actually running the Fed, or pretty much everything in DC at this point.

I'm at whatever stages happen after outrage. Well beyond in fact.

All I want to do now is escape to a virtual realty machine a la the Hollodeck in Star Trek so I can relive youthful drunken revelry at an early nineties Beat Farmers roadhouse show in Colorado.

RIP Country Dick Montana.

"donated over $70 million to “BLM Movement and Related Causes”"

I've heard people object that there is no documentation of this, and I looked but can't find anything substantial myself. The source given is https://dc.claremont.org/blm-funding-database/

I don't see any proof there. Would be nice if BLM kept good public records themselves, but that seems unlikely. Please reply if you find proof of these donations.

On the other hand, it's easy to prove the wokeness of SVB from their own site, for example:

I didn't dig into this much, but clearly management at SVB was ridiculously cavalier about depositor risk.

I’m subscribing. And the lead singer of Spandau Ballet reminds me of Tim Geithner. And re. Geithner, from Jimmy Cayne (probably high): “Like he was the determining factor, and it’s like a flea on his back, floating down underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, getting a hard on.” Some people are clerks, after all.

Before the last 16 years I used to believe the French Revolution was a horrible period of time. I still believe it was a horrible period of time but I now have a much better understanding of what drove the Revolutionists. When you finally realize the entire “system” is infested and controlled by maggots you lose your sense of normalcy.

I’ve had repeated problems with Substack not accepting payments from me to various other “writers.” Payments always go through for some and never for others. There is an apparent correlation to the politics of the writer. Also I’m sure I’ve been on “the list” since I bought my first copy of Bill Cooper’s BEHOLD A PALE HORSE.

I know it looks a bit cheesy but I’ll recommend buymeacoffee again. Never had an issue with payments or receipts.
