Just a quick note to everyone in light of my interview with Grant Williams and Steph Pomboy that was posted today: The response to my first podcast has been very positive, thank you. I felt a bit nervous and rambling doing it - it was my first desktop Zoom call - but it turned out pretty well I hope, just over an hour. The hosts were both very gracious as always.
Brilliant podcast with Grant and Steph and I'm happy to see we despise the same group of people. Since you are a fan of financial history, how about the speech Alan Grayson gave on the floor congratulating the American people for being the proud owners of a Red Roof Inn?
You know, this sent me looking this morning…..it would interesting to see what forces were brought to bear against him and his political career after this.
I remember thinking he was a nut job back then, but that was before I was awakened from my slumber.
Silly Grayson, asking questions that can't be answered out loud. The way Bernanke does a matrix judo move with his answer is a perfect illustration as to why he deserves that moderately reasonable salary from Citadel.
In the middle of your podcast with Grant, which has been excellent so far.
As the meme goes, "I am somewhat of a Lincoln fan myself" and just finished Jon Meacham's And There Was Light - thought it was worthwhile and wanted to pass it along. https://www.jonmeacham.com/book/and-there-was-light/
I'm listening to the podcast and I love it. I'm a Delco kid , paper routs, mowed yards been working since 12 yrs old. I started Fleck in 96. Also was friends with the Clipper fund folks (Jim Gibson) . I'm angry at this because like you I see what they do to most people. I wish you didn't tell me that the Bernank made 20 mill a year.
Yellen took the blue ( honesty) by mistake. Was only telling the truth so, pretty soon she might even step down b/c she shouldn’t be there in the first place.
OK now I have to subscribe to Grant Williams - something I’d been considering for a while - I hope he buys your a beer as thanks! Maybe even a Guinness.
Great podcast. We actually got to hear the man behind the curtain. How about you and Prof Dave Collum on the same podcast?! I'm not sure that Twitter is ready for that!
So happy that Mary Daly is committed to the dollar holding its purchasing power from week to week.
Also, bagels are up from $2.49 to $2.99 this week at trader joes but they seem to taste better and are actually cheaper than ever.
Your Subtack format has certainly been worth the price of general admission,
Glad to hear. Thanks.
Jesus, thanks for that Redding. So good.

Whatever happened to that guy? He sold out? This was a great one from him back in that era

Thank you. Haven't read that.
It was so good I subscribed! In fact I have it queued up for a second listen! Thank you.
Thank you

Yeah, never took a penny from parents after like 6th grade - they didn't have any extra anyway.
I remember mutual fund Clipper Fund. I was in that for a bit with years ago.
I forget who told me $20M but it was a Wall Street guy and I believe it. Any amount angers me.
I am Carpathia on Twitter.

I'm DYING to hear this podcast. Cannot wait. And, thank you as always.
I've asked Grant and he said yes for my paid subscribers so I'll have to wait and see how we can arrange that.
Excellent!

Great work! Speaking of podcasts, the person in charge of titles hopefully did this for a giggle 🤭 "Federal Reserve Insider Shares All"

I will not believe that you do not sound like Herr Herzog.

I'd like to do one with Dave.
